Matt’s friends, families, and colleagues probably know him for his sense of humor, his die-hard loyalty to the Detroit Tigers, or his three daughters running all over the place. But what Matt’s clients know him for is his 15 years of financial planning experience and willingness to always act in their best interest. He acts in a fiduciary capacity for his clients’ advisory accounts and educates them on what they need to know to make sound financial decisions.
Matt always wanted a career where he could help individuals and small business owners navigate their finances. If he weren’t a financial advisor he would be an airline pilot traveling the world, but he is perfectly content with his position today because he is able to build long-term, lasting relationships and help those in his community. He is an Accredited Investment Fiduciary®, which means that he is interested in working towards the best interests of his clients. He has gone through training, met the qualifications, and passed the exam allowing use of the AIF designation. Since beginning his career in financial services in 2001, Matt has delivered dynamic presentations on unique strategies for college funding, taught continuing education classes to other financial service professionals, and has been a long time speaker at local high schools and colleges. Matt has educated over one thousand 401k participants on the values of long term savings and has worked with hundreds of plan sponsors to ensure ERISA based plans are compliant with all rules and regulations.
As an independent entrepreneur in this industry, Matt attributes his staying power and success to always being available to his clients. Matt answers his phone or promptly returns all calls even on Sunday’s or while on vacation. His clients always know how to find him and never complain about “not hearing from their advisor in years.”
His heroes are the underdogs that prevail and he loves helping his clients prevail in their financial endeavors by providing honest, transparent communication and full-disclosure with their financial decisions. He tells them what they need to hear and provides heavily documented processes that help them pursue their goals.
If you can’t find Matt in his office, you can likely find him enjoying family activities such as tea parties or dress up (with his daughters), competing in, playing, or watching sports, or spending time outside. He participates in fundraising events for various charitable organizations and loves volunteering at his daughters’ schools.
